Dr. Carlos Delgado Kloos and Dr. Carlos Alario Hoyos from the University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain), along with Dr. Antonio Moreira Teixeira from the Universidade Aberta de Portugal (Portugal), were responsible for delivering the first webinar of Project PROFXXI titled «The Digitization of Education and OERs.»
This webinar described the transformation that education has undergone in recent years thanks to various technologies, with a particular emphasis on the use of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
In the first part of the webinar, Dr. Delgado presented the objectives and scope of Project PROFXXI and subsequently described the two waves of digital transformation and how they have impacted educational processes.
In the second part of the webinar, Dr. Moreira described the typology and evolution of open domain teaching and learning materials (OERs), their characteristics, and best practices for their use in the teaching and learning process.
This first webinar had over 550 participants from various countries, including Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Spain, El Salvador, Colombia, Portugal, Paraguay, and Ecuador.
This is the beginning of a series of 8 webinars that Project PROFXXI has planned to develop with the aim of supporting teachers in content development, digital resources, and the learning of tools that aid the teaching and learning processes.
