The next EDEN RW11 workshop, titled «EDEN RW11,» will take place on October 23 and 24. The Eleventh Research Workshop (RW11) organized by the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) aims to address the current challenges researchers face regarding the impact of emerging digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence on improving the quality and sustainability of the human learning experience.
The Research Workshop program includes plenary sessions, parallel sessions with paper presentations, workshops, and moderated poster sessions.
The theme and scope of EDEN RW11 reflect the current challenges researchers encounter regarding the impact of emerging digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence on improving the quality and sustainability of the human learning experience. The ability to generate, process, and manage more data and information than ever before about the teaching and learning process enables both teachers and students to have more control. They can make better-informed design decisions, track learning performance more accurately and in detail, anticipate problems earlier and act accordingly, collect more evidence of learning, as well as assess and accredit more transparently. In short, they can shape their teaching and learning experiences more efficiently and collaboratively.
A notable highlight of this event will be the Oxford-style debate, where partners from the PROFXXI project are part of the invited speakers’ committee. During the debate, they will share insights into the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on open, distance, and online learning research in a networked society.
The event was organized by Dr. António Moreira Teixera from Universidade Aberta (Portugal) and will feature the participation of Dr. Mar Pérez San Agustín from Université Toulouse III Paul Sabatier (France), both universities being partners in the PROFXXI project.
EDEN RW11 will be heavily focused on researchers and what they can learn from and with their peers. Leveraging successful past experiences and adapting to the new global environment, the workshop is conducted in an enhanced digital setting where researchers, including graduate students, can share research, connect with peers, and have adequate time to discuss the challenges in their work. The event format will promote collaboration and networking opportunities, including parallel research paper sessions and speed dating, workshops, and poster sessions.
