The Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing, Open, and Virtual Education of the University of Cauca and the PROF-XXI project: Building Capacities for the Development of Teaching and Learning Centers (CEAs) for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Latin America in the 21st Century, launched the eighth cohort of the Diploma in Educational Innovations in Higher Education on September 7. This program is aimed at university professors, both permanent and temporary, from the campuses in Popayán and Santander de Quilichao (Cauca, Colombia) with a capacity of 30 to 40 participants.
The Diploma covers topics of interest for 21st-century university professors, such as active-reflective learning, flipped classrooms, neuropsychology of learning, gamification, perception and learning, production of educational content, virtual environments, constructivism, and constructionism, learning in massive environments, case study analysis, research as a didactic strategy, among others. These topics are covered in online sessions held on Tuesday evenings for 16 weeks, which is due to the ongoing pandemic situation.
This cohort joins the fifth, sixth, and seventh cohorts that were completed in the last calendar year. In these cohorts, 31, 24, and 25 professors, respectively, met the requirements to receive their respective certifications. The certification ceremony is scheduled for December 2021.
